Senator ReGINALD TATE
REGINALD TATE graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Memphis. He was the previous CEO of Accent by Design, and currently works with Architecture Incorporated. He is the Vice Chairman of the Cocaine, Alcohol Awareness Program, and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Senate Education Committee.”
Reginald Tate was first elected to the state senate in 2006. He is the Vice Chair of the Senate Education Committee. He is a also a member of the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee, the Senate Finance, Ways, and Means Committee, and the Joint Fiscal Review Committee. Senator Tate has been a champion for District 33 and the people of Tennessee in and out of the Senate. He is a well known figure in his community, and remains highly engaged in the Memphis community.
His goal is not to be a career politician but a community servant responding to the voice of the people. While working with his colleagues in Nashville, Reginald remains committed to the following: revitalizing Memphis neighborhoods, providing incentives for the elderly and disabled veterans, and reforming the War on Crime through a review of our existing judicial System.
State Senator Reginald Tate was born September 14, 1954 in Memphis, TN. He is a graduate of Hamilton High School with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from the University of Memphis. In 2006 Senator Tate was elected to the State Senate, representing District 33.
Senator Tate serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, and is a member of Senate Commerce and Labor Committee, Senate Finance, Ways, and Means Committee, and the Joint Fiscal Review Committee.
Senator Tate served 6 (six) years as a member of the Shelby County Democratic Party Executive Committee representing House District 85 and Senate District 33. He is a Vice Chair of Cocaine, Alcohol and Awareness Program (CAPP).
